The Huawei P8 is a unibody aluminum mobile telephone
and from first view, the P8 looks even sleeker than last
year’s flagship, a feat which seemed impossible to achieve at the time of
review of the P7. The 5.2-inch IPS screen is almost bezel-free with a resolution
of 1,920 x 1080 pixels, and an unbelievable thickness of 6.4mm, making it
thinner than virtually other rivals in its category.
While
the P8 is not completely waterproof, by design, it will be protected against
spills, humidity, splashes, and sweat.
To
deliver a butter-smooth user experience and to take full advantage of the
latest android lollipop 5.0, the P8 is powered by the Kirin 930 64-bit
processor, which also offers lower power consumption thanks to the big-little
processor setup.
There is also a proprietary feature to help in
finding a misplaced phone quicker. Huawei calls it“voice wake up”, meaning a
user can query the device and ask “Where are you?” or some other phrase, and the
phone will respond, saying, “I’m here,” and play music until it is found.
Not surprisingly, the P8 was recently voted
as the best consumer Smart Phone by The European Imaging and Sound Association
(EISA).
If the excitement and comments from the
product launch are anything to go by, the Huawei P8 will certainly replicate
the successes and attending accolades it has so far enjoyed in Europe, right
here in Nigeria, one of Huawei’s fastest growing markets on the continent.
